SELaiCK Alerts 7-2018 – Malaysia Sales and Service Tax (MySST) Website

MySST Website Officially Launched by the RMCD

With the impending implementation of Sales and Service Tax (SST) (est. 1 Sept 2018), the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (“RMCD”) has launched the official website of Malaysian Sales Tax and Service Tax (“MySST”) for public access of the SST related information, similar to the current GST website.

You may access the MySST (https://www.mysst.customs.gov.my/) for the followings:

1. Basic/background info of SST;
2. Latest announcements (FAQs, proposed list of exempted goods and taxable services etc); and
3. Registration status verification
   • Qualified GST registrant who fulfilled the prescribed SST criteria will be registered automatically as SST registered person.
   • If your company is currently a GST registrant and has not been notified by email on your registration, it would be advisable to check your registration status in MySST.

In view of the accelerated development of SST, it is advisable for all businesses to keep abreast of the SST update by referring to MySST regularly.
