Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standards (MPERS)
- MPERS will be required to be adopted by all Private Entities as its accounting framework for accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2016.
- Private Entities essentially covers Sdn Bhds.
- Financial statements for the financial years ending 31 December 2016 will be the first to be impacted.
MPERS’ impact on the financial statements of Private Entities will be pervasive, with significant changes on how we deal with the following broad areas:
- Presentation of Financial Statements, Accounting Policies, Estimates and Errors;
- Assets and Liabilities;
- Revenues;
- Financial Instruments; and
- Business Combinations and Consolidation.
In preparation for the adoption of MPERS, we have prepared/scheduled the following:
- Salient Points on MPERS and Key Impact/Changes on its implementation, attached herewith for your kind attention; and
- A full-day Workshop (conducted in English, complemented by Mandarin) covering:
- Key Impact and Changes of MPERS; and
- Transition to MPERS
